ENVRI Community International Winter School on DATA FAIRness January 11-22, 2021

The 2021 ENVRI Community International Winter School on Data FAIRness is taking place on January 11-22, 2021. The theme of the school is "ENVRI-FAIR Resources: Access & Discoverability", and it will cover a range of topics including semantic navigation, Jupyter environments for visualisation and data discovery, resource access tools and cloud computing.

Dr. Constantinos C. Mylonas was recently appointed as Director of the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture (IMBBC) of the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (HCMR).  Dr. Mylonas was born in Famagusta, Cyprus in 1964 and was recruited in 1999 by the then Institute of Marine Biology of Crete (IMBC). He was promoted to Senior Researcher in 2007, following the merge of IMBC with the National Center for Marine Research (NCMR) and the creation of the new national Research Center (HCMR).

Second LifeWatch ERIC Dahlem Workshop, Rome 2-6 December 2019
 

Dr Eva Chatzinikolaou and Dr Vasilis Gerovasileiou participated in the 1st Dahlem-type Workshop organised by the LifeWatch ERIC Internal Joint Initiative (IJI), in Seville during 13-18 October 2019. The topic of the meeting was the "Current and future challenges of Non Indigenous Species (NIS) in Europe". Needs in terms of data, scientific and management knowledge, as well as VREs development were discussed during the workshop.
