Dr. Pafilis Evangelos from the LifeWatchGreece team participated in the BioCreative V Scientific challenge workshop that took place in Seville, Spain during 9-11 September 2015.

The methods EXTRACT, ENVIRONMENTS and SPECIES co-developed by the LWG Literature Mining Vlab and the Center for Protein Research Novo Nordisk Foundation (University of Copenhagen, Denmark) were presented. In particular it was shown how they may be employed for the annotation of metagenomics sample records following Genomics Standards Consortium recommendations.
