1st Mediterranean Symposium on the conservation of Dark Habitats (October 2014, Slovenia)

During the "œ1st Mediterranean Symposium on the conservation of Dark Habitats", which was held in PortoroΕΎ (Slovenia) by UNEP-MAP/RAC-SPA (http://www.rac-spa.org/), Vasilis Gerovasileiou, PhD candidate at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and data manager (marine biodiversity data) in LifeWatch Greece, presented a preliminary overview of the current knowledge on the biodiversity of Mediterranean marine caves.
 
In his contribution he also discussed on the significance of the currently developing biodiversity informatics infrastructures (e.g. LifeWatch) to the publication of georeferenced, taxonomically updated marine biodiversity datasets.
